Diamonds — Kimberley & parcel verification

Provenance, parcel integrity and export compliance must remain connected.

Rough-diamond transactions require more than possession of stones. Divitia’s framework connects seller authority, lawful provenance, parcel verification, valuation, certification and controlled delivery.

Execution framework

Diamond transaction gates

The applicable process depends on origin, exporter, parcel status, destination and buyer requirements.

01

Seller & exporter authority

Verify legal identity, mandate chain and authority to own, market and export the parcel.

02

Lawful provenance

Establish declared mine/trading origin and supporting records consistent with national law.

03

Parcel inspection

Securely inspect, count/weigh, classify and document the parcel before pricing reliance.

04

Valuation

Use qualified valuation and buyer-agreed commercial criteria; avoid price claims based only on seller representations.

05

Kimberley certification

For rough diamonds, confirm the applicable Kimberley Process certificate and export pathway before shipment.

06

Controlled delivery

Align sealed parcel, certification, customs, transport, insurance and payment release conditions.

A certificate does not replace parcel-level verification.

Certification, physical parcel identity and transaction authority should reconcile. Any discrepancy in weight, seal, origin, exporter, certificate or parcel composition requires resolution before payment or shipment.

Parcel identity

Create a stable parcel reference and record weight, composition, packaging/seal and inspection evidence.

Valuation basis

Agree valuation methodology, buyer acceptance and treatment of mixed qualities before settlement.

Export control

Match exporter authority, certificate, customs declaration, destination and carrier documentation.

Security

Use controlled viewing, custody and handover protocols appropriate to high-value portable goods.

Payment

Tie release to documentary and physical milestones, not simply presentation of a certificate copy.

Buyer integrity

Verify the diamond buyer/trader and destination-specific obligations as carefully as the seller.
